Tom Brady's Injury and the Fantasy Football Landscape

We decided to wait a week before talking about Tom Brady's (BRDY) injury. Although it is still too early to tell the full effects, here's what I noticed during week 2:

1. Randy Moss (MOSS) looks like he's not as into the game as he once was. While the rest of the Patriots have seemingly rallied together, MOSS looked like he mailed it in. His performance in yesterday's big win over the Jets (2 receptions for 22 yards) shows how much he depends on BRDY. His numbers against the Jets looked like his old numbers as an Oakland Raider and we know how bad that was.

2. FAVR and other players should not take New England's defense lightly. There are three phases to a football game (offense, defense and special teams) and New England is still darn good at two of them. Look for New England's defense to play great football this year. This veteran group have an easy schedule and will keep New England in contention for the AFC East crown.

3. Barring injuries, the fantasy football crown for top performer is a two-horse race between Adrian Peterson (APET) and Tony Romo (ROMO). We'll see what ROMO does tonight and if APET can stay healthy while taking hits like he did yesterday against the Colts, but barring any big injuries, these guys are the best around in fantasy football. In a world previously dominated by LaDainian Tomlinson (LTEE) and BRDY, it's time to welcome in the next bunch of dominant fantasy players.
